She wrestled with an impossible promise.

When I think of Sarah from the Old Testament, I think of someone who wrestled with an impossible promise. For decades, she carried the heartbreak of infertility. Even after the Lord promised she and Abraham would have descendants as numerous as the stars, the years kept passing.
I painted this piece thinking about those years of waiting. I imagine her looking up at the night sky, wondering how a promise like that could ever be fulfilled. Did she question whether she was doing something wrong? It's no surprise she eventually sought her own solution, offering her handmaid, Hagar, to act as a surrogate.
Yet, God wasn't finished. Decades later, when Sarah was 90 years old, the impossible became reality, and she gave birth to her promised son, Isaac.
I created this piece as a visual reminder that God can do the impossible. It's a beautiful daily reminder for your home that we can trust Him to keep His promises — even when we don't know how He will do it.
